Girls Night Out

What a fun time! Last weekend I went with some of the "mommies" in my family and we had a "girls weekend". It was so much fun... as you can see! We met at the Mall in Mission Veijo and had a great time shopping before having dinner at the Cheesecake Factory (Yummy!!). We got a great deal on a room at the Hilton in Dana Point (thanks Emily!) so after dinner we went back to our hotel. We did our "favorite things" exchange which was lots of fun. I got a couple cool Cd's, a DVDs, a great message from the prophet, some crystal, some yummy pumpkin bread, a great lip liner, some really cute gift bags, mint chocolates from See's and some really good snacks and drinks! It was great to go home with everyone's "favorites". After our exchange we gave each other facials and stayed up until 4 am talking, which would have killed me except for the fact that we were able to SLEEP IN the next morning!! A whole night (or morning) of uninterrupted sleep!! So, we got up got dressed and went to the San Clemente pier for brunch. We spent a couple hours at the pier and then headed to Irvine Spectrum for some kid free shopping! It was so much fun! I felt like I got so much accomplished! While we were there we heard Rob Machado was signing autographs at Buckle so we went to meet him. We ended with a light (but yummy) dinner at The Corner Bakery before heading home. It was great to get away for the night and hang out with the Girls, but it's also great to see the look on your family's face when you come walking in the door!!! I am such a lucky girl!

8 Years of Marriage!

When I first met Mike I could tell that he was the kind of guy I wanted to marry. He was handsome, kind, sincere, spiritual, hard working, he loved kids and loved to serve others. He was always helping someone put in a new yard or painting their house. We instantly became the best of friends and it wasn't long before I knew he was the one, although it took him a while to figure it out. We spent about 8 months being great friends and finally he kissed me! It was only 3 weeks later that we were engaged and 3 months later we were married! It was September 24 1999.
I can't believe we have been married for 8 years! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband who loves the Lord, love me and loves our children. Each day I love him more and more and I thank my Heavenly Father for blessing me with such a great guy!

Because we are celebrating our 8th anniversary here are 8 reasons I love Mike:

1) He has a stong testimony of the Gospel.
2) He loves me and is a wonderful father to our 3 boys. He has set such a great example for them to follow, of how to be a good husband and father.
3) He loves to serve others.
4) He is a hard worker and a good provider.
5) He's got a great sense of humor and makes me laugh all the time!!
6) He admits when he is wrong and always stands for what is right.
7) He is very honest, trustworthy and loyal.
8) He keeps me grounded. Whenever I am scared or uncertain I know he is there for me. He is one of the most Faithful people I know.

Happy Aniversay Mike....I Love You Mike!!!

Our trip to Solvang

About 2 months ago Mike and I found the cutest little town called Solvang, CA. If you go to Santa Barbara and go up in the mountains you will find it. It is a cute little Danish town. There are lots of cute Danish shops and bakery's. The whole town is just beautiful with lush trees and Danish style buildings. I feel like I am in Denmark when I'm there. If you have never been, you should take a day trip.

Anyway, the weekend before school started (9/25) Mike and I thought it would be fun to take the boys up there for a little family trip. We had alot of fun! We got really lucky because we didn't know it, but there was a car show that weekend so there was about 500 really neat cars to look at while we were there. We stayed the night in a cute little hotel and spent the whole day walking around all the shops and looking at all the cool cars. Here are some pictures.

This is what the yummy Danish bakeries looked like...and they smelled even better!! We bribed the boys all day by saying, if your good you can have one of those big yummy cookies from the bakery. It worked most of the time so you can see we went back and bought them. I think that was the highlight of the trip for them!

We found this old clock shop and I had to take pictures. They had some really neat coo coo clocks. The boys were mesmerized, as you can see.

We saw a man drawing cartoons of people and we thought it would be cute to have him draw Brigham and Joseph together (we knew Paul wouldn't sit still long enough). Here are some pictures of Brigham posing for the picture, and the boys with the artist. He looks a little scary huh! Actually he was a really nice guy.

And this is the final picture....cute huh! He asked us what theme we wanted, and since we just redecorated the boys room in camping/hunting decor, we thought it would be cute to do a hunting theme and hang it on the wall in their bedroom.

Here are some of our favorite cars at the car show. Mine is the woody and Mike's was the Cobra. It was alot of fun to see all the different cars. Brig and Joseph love cars so it was a real treat for them.

more cars..........

I think we wore Paul out! What do you think?? You can tell how much fun he had by how dirty he is.

Total Bummer

OK, so I am so totally bummed!!! Remember how I said that my digital camera broke so I had to use my 35mm camera for Brigs 1st day of school. Well I took the cutest pictures of Brigham all excited for school, at school, going to class and after school. Then later that day He lost his first tooth! So I took some really cute pictures of him holding his tooth with a big ol' smile showing the little space in his smile, I took pics of him putting the tooth under his pillow for the tooth fairy and the cutest pictures of him finding a whole dollar under his pillow. He was so cute and excited! Plus I got some really cute pictures of Joseph and Paul while Brig was at school. Well, can you guess what happened??? My 35 mm camera is broken too!!!!! NOTHING turned out! The whole role is just black. I wanted to cry, those are moments you can't just get back! What am I gonna do give him back his tooth and tell him the tooth fairy let me borrow it?? I can take more pics of him going to school, but it still isn't the first day of kindergarten! Anyway, between the two cameras, that is about $1,200.00 worth of cameras that just pooped out on me on a really special day. I am so totally bummed!!!
